EXT. MAIN CHARACTER ACADEMY – NIGHT (1)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIZZY LION pulls up and parks on the street in front of the entrance to the academy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIZZY LION:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Grab whatever you need and get inside.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST looks upset but is helping. LIZZY LION walks toward the academy carrying gear and YUREI OKABE notices that SHINICHI TEMPEST is upset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YUREI OKABE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Oh get over it, kid. You weren’t much of a Main Character, anyway.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINCIHI TEMPEST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Thanks for that. I feel much better.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YUREI OKABE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It doesn’t have to be a bad thing. Main Characters have so much more responsibility and work. It’s hard, and you don’t really seem cut out for it.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I think I could have become a good MC eventually.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YUREI OKABE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Yeah, sure, but it only would have became an OK show. And wouldn’t you rather have a great show with a smaller part than an OK show with the main role? We don’t need another OK show. Trust me, being a support character is way better.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST looks away in deep thought.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CUT TO <\/p>\n\n\n\n

INT. MAIN CHARACTER ACADEMY ENTRANCE ROOM – NIGHT (2)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

All the gear is set up. They glow, beep, and whirr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YUREI OKABE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are good to go, Chief. Just need one last ingredient to get systems going.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YUREI OKABE kisses one of the monitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

COMPUTER:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Data Analyzed – Identity Confirmed – Yurei Okabe.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Lizzy? I just want to let you know that I think you taking the lead of the show is a good idea. I’m a bit of a jackass. I was the completely wrong choice for an MC. I haven’t earned it but you have passion. I think… I think you can make it, big time. And I want to support you however I can.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIZZY LION:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I’m glad to hear it. I do need your help in exorcising this ghost.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“What do you need?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIZZY LION:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Your help.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“…With what?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIZZY LION:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We’re sticking with the plan where we use you as bait. The climax of this episode will probably have something to do with the ghost, Chisaki’s, dark past. So, you’re going to strike up a dialogue with him. It’ll be emotional and all that kind of crap.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“When did this stop being a Slice of Life show?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIZZY LION:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“What do you mean?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Ghosts aren’t in Slice of Life shows. Ghosts aren’t real.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIZZY LION:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Oh please and you call yourself an anime fan. Yes. They are. Now go be pretty bait for this one.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“But what are you gonna do?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIZZY LION:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Save your life.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“You know there’s a difference between being an MC and a Director, right?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIZZY LION:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Yeah, well sometimes the Director is a moron and you have to make sure things get done right. This is my life. I’ll do what it takes to make it great.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YUREI OKABE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Okay, kiddos. Take these magic ghost boxes. They will beep when you’re near a ghost. Since we’re going in blind with no preparation what so ever at Lizzy’s behest-“<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIZZY LION:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I don’t know if that’s comple-“<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YUREI OKABE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“-you two will have to find a way to scourge the ghost on your own.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINCHI TEMPEST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Scourge?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YUREI OKABE has already put in earbuds and is playing on his Switch. He glances up annoyed and gestures as he replies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YUREI OKABE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Fuck off. This yarned Yoshi can’t save itself.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIZZY LION:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Ignore him. I think we can stick to Section C of the Academy. There’s no reason plot-wise for the ghost to be elsewhere.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Wait.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FLASHBACK BEGIN<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every moment where they noticed cameras or the camera crew play in succession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FLASHBACK END<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Maybe we shouldn’t be saying things like Section C. Avoid the meta, yeah?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIZZY LION:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I’m sure they’ll edit around that kind of stuff. They don’t need the hours of footage they’re recording. I’ll go upstairs and you look around down here. Text me if you find the ghost.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Right.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

INT. MAIN CHARACTER ACADEMY 2ND FLOOR – NIGHT (3)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIZZY LION roams about upstairs with the box in one hand and her phone in the other with its flashlight on. She talks to her herself as she walks into classrooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIZZY LION:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“How do you exterminate a ghost?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIZZY LION steps into a science room with a skeleton figure hanging from a stand. She scans the skeleton figure with the box with no result and steps around it and slaps it on the ass. The skeleton clinks and wiggles from its string.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIZZY LION:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Not a ghost.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CUT TO<\/p>\n\n\n\n

INT. CAFETERIA – NIGHT (4)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST is nervous, and he is startled by his phone ringing. It’s a random number. He answers it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Hey-hello?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CUT TO<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YUREI OKABE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I need your help.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SWITCH TO<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Oh no, what’s wrong?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YUREI OKABE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Have you ever played Yoshi Yarn? I’m stuck on Yarn Ball Mountain. I can’t get up the damn yarned balls.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SWITCH TO<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST has climbed on top of a lunch room table as he’s waving the box gadget around for a reading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Oh yeah, that’s a tough bit. Big pain in my ass. Here’s what you do. There’s a part on the yarn balls that is a different color than the rest. Just jump on that. It’s a platform.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As SHINICHI TEMPEST explains this, he jumps onto an adjacent lunch table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THROUGH THE PHONE<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YUREI OKABE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Brilliant. Who would’ve thought it’d be platforms.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Oh but look out for the crochet hooks.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As SHINICHI TEMPEST says this, he dodges around imaginary obstacles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“They’ll poke out through the yarn and knock you down.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THROUGH THE PHONE<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YUREI OKABE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“What? Oh damn! They got me. Damn. I have to start this all over again.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“You know you can double jump, right?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST hears something and lowers his phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SWITCH TO a dramatic zoom into YUREI OKABE’s face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YUREI OKABE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“What the dingle berries is a double jump?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CUT TO <\/p>\n\n\n\n

INT. MAIN CHARACTER ACADEM Y 2ND FLOOR – NIGHT (5)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIZZY LION IS sitting on the couch in the teacher’s lounge. She’s mimicking MISS PROVACATA with her back to the camera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIZZY LION:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Ooh -support-<\/em><\/strong> Ahaw ahaw! Naughty deserves -punISHment-<\/em><\/strong>.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As LIZZY LION turns around, it can be seen that she has stuffed two dodgeballs in her shirt. She then stabs a knife in both dodgeballs and feigns death. Her phone vibrates as she lays on the ground. She sits up and opens the notification. It’s a text from SHINICHI TEMPEST that reads: ‘Yoshi summons Chisaki at lunch. lel big dick energy.’<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIZZY LION:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“What’s a Yoshi?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CUT TO <\/p>\n\n\n\n

INT. CAFETERIA – NIGHT (6)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIZZY LION pushes open the doors of the cafeteria room holding the gadget box that is beeping consistently and quickly. She finds SHINICHI TEMPEST sitting on the ground with YUREI OKABE crouched over the Switch. YUREI OKABE is furiously mashing buttons. SHINICHI TEMPEST waves casually at LIZZY LION.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Hey, Lizzy.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIZZY LION:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“You two enjoying yourselves?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It’s a bit chilly.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YUREI OKABE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Nah, I’m good. I’ve got my lab coat.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIZZY LION:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“You are couple of privileged, unimportant toddlers.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Whoa there.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YUREI OKABE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“No, she’s right. Sorry Liz but ghost hunting just got boooring.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Yeah, at the end of the day, ghosts are just regular people who died. They’re dead now and being dead doesn’t make you interesting.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIZZY LION:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We’re SUPPOSED to be interesting AND regular. Of course the ghost is too!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YUREI OKABE and SHINICHI TEMPEST both groan in disinterest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIZZY LION:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Well, maybe you two should see something I found upstairs.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YUREI OKABE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Now?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIZZY LION:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“NOW!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CUT TO<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They’re walking upstairs lead by LIZZY LION.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIZZY LION:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“So Tempest, could you tell me what your text meant? I mean I got the part about lunch time but uh the rest of it was lost on me.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST takes in a deep breath as if what he is about to say is very difficult and important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Okay. I’d best do this in parts. So, ‘big dick energy’ is a common, internet phrase. It means ‘whoa, that’s impressive. Just as impressive as a large penis would be. I am impressed with this thing in the same way I’d be impressed by a large penis.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIZZY LION:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Oh, well actually-“<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“And a Yoshi is a cisgendered dinosaur. Fictional of course. So, what my text meant was: I was impressed by Yoshi in the cafeteria just as I would be by a large, erect penis.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIZZY LION:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Yes, but what did you mean by Yoshi summons Chisaki?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Huh. That must have been a typo.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YUREI OKABE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Alright, we’re at the President’s office-“<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Principle’s office.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YUREI OKABE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“PRINCIPLES OFFICE. That’s what I meant. Now what?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHINICHI TEMPEST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Yes, what did you find in here Liz?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All their gadget boxes start going off aggressively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
